Interview With The Ramp People

What inspired you to launch your own website?
We at The Ramp People believed that we could bring a superior offering to the ramp world based upon years of experience in the field of ramps, superior product, ground breaking pricing along with friendly help, advice and service.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
www.TheRampPeople.co.uk was born in 2006 and from then we have gone from strength to strength supplying vehicle ramps, plant ramps and disabled ramps.

How did you decide on a name for your website?
Originally we had another name but our customers always called us those ramp people......after a while we went with it and officially became The Ramp People. Its a great name as it does what it says on the tin.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We believe that a picture speaks a 1000 words and based on that we built a simple to navigate, functional site that shows our customers our breadth of product and demonstrates what separates our vehicle ramp and disabled ramp offering from the rest.

What is your eventual goal?
To retire to a small Caribbean Island rich and happy.......a long way to go yet. ;-)

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
There are a lot of changes planned very soon for www.TheRampPeople.co.uk so watch this space for new developments.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes and we are ready....we have a custom built warehouse, distribution hub and logistics centre and our back office systems are designed from the ground up to be scalable & manageable.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The worldwide costs of oil and global inflation represent a challenge to any manufacturing business these days, however with good management we can offset these costs with savings elsewhere in the business.

What has been your biggest challenge?
It is a been a busy year for us all at The Ramp People but it is has been a lot of fun and we pride ourselves on excellence in the vehicle ramp area.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
The Ramp People believe that along with customer satisfaction and word of mouth recommendation a good website promotes itself.

What are you upto this weekend?
I'd love to say I was taking it easy but there are other projects we are working on but I will be having a lie in on Sunday! :-)
